
Lakeland’s Jazz Ensemble performed at its annual fall concert Tuesday night, playing five songs and welcoming special guests, the Concordia University Saxophone Quartet, to the stage.
The Lakeland ensemble played “Done Deal,” “Angel Eyes,” “C Jam Blues,” “Cry Me a River” and “Lonesome Road.”
Highlighting the night were solos from the Lakeland musicians, who were: Stephanie Burgardt on flute; Malcolm Blakely, Connor Grundman, Reggie Nimmer and Lauren Sperry (instructor of saxophone at Concordia) on saxophone; Brandon Farmer, Kyle Green and Mikayla Schnell on trumpet; Jacob Weyker on guitar; Rick Anderson on piano; Andy Waldoch on bass; and Zachery Mock on drums.
