Hugh F. Denison, a loyal, longtime friend of Lakeland College, was recently honored for his philanthropy.
Lakeland College was a co-nominator of Denison for the prestigious award of Outstanding Fundraising Volunteer. He was honored by Lawrence University at the National Philanthropic Day luncheon at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. Representatives of Lakeland College and the Sheboygan YMCA were guests of Denison and his wife, Mary.
Lakeland College remains, in the Denison family’s words, “a unique and treasured asset to the greater Sheboygan community. The college has remained true to its Christian roots and provides outstanding educations to many young women and men, some of whom might otherwise not have such an opportunity.”
Denison has consistently served Lakeland College as an adjunct professor, advisor to several presidents, ambassador and consistent donor. In 2013, he received the Service to the College Award at Lakeland’s annual alumni awards banquet.
