Exercise science students, grads present research

Lakeland University’s exercise science professor and students present six research studies at the National Strength and Conditioning Association 41st Annual National Conference in Indianapolis, Ind., held July 11-14.

  • ·Dylan Lange presented the study titled, “The effect of weekly training volume, sport participation, and occupational labor on strength and conditioning performance” Co-investigators included Andrew Kossow, Mike Duehring and William Ebben, associate professor of exercise science.
  • ·Josh Reisimer presented the study titled, “Force and power profile of plyometric box jumps.” Co-investigators included Casey Takahashi, Dan Janeshek, Samantha Williams and Ebben.
  • ·Reisimer also presented the study titled, “Kinetic analysis of select body weight, light load, and heavy load resistance training exercises.” Co-investigators included Takahashi, Janeshek and Ebben.
  • ·Kossow presented the study titled, “Correlation between sleep, stress and performance of high school athletes.” Co-investigators included Lange, Duehring and Ebben.
  • ·Ebben presented the study titled, “The role of strength and power in football striking.” Co-investigators included Takahashi, Janeshek, Reisimer and Marti Neal.
  • ·Erich Petushek presented the study titled, “Strength training technique expertise: Development of efficient assessment and training systems.” Co-investigators included Sarah Clarke, Sandor Dorgo, Greg Myer, Tron Krosshaug and Ebben.

Abstracts from each of these studies will be published in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research.

Additionally, Takahashi recently presented the study titled, “Job profile of NCAA Division III athletic trainers” at the 2018 National Athletic Trainers Association Clinical Symposia and Expo in New Orleans, held June 26-29. Aaron Rose and Ebben were co-investigators on this study. The abstract from this study will published in the Journal of Athletic Training.
