LU announces latest class of Sheboygan County Scholars
Four seniors from Sheboygan County’s three largest high schools will make up the 2017 class of Lakeland University Sheboygan County Scholars.

The latest recipients of this full-tuition scholarship will join seven current LU Sheboygan County Scholars, bringing the total number in the program to 11.

Emerging this year from a field of 18 finalists to earn the full-tuition scholarships were: Dominique Lee (Sheboygan North), Alyson Piper (Sheboygan South), Tegan Schneider (Plymouth) and Eeshi Vue (Sheboygan North).

The Sheboygan County Scholars program is a Lakeland University initiative, with support from the Sheboygan County Chamber of Commerce and leading businesses and philanthropists. The goal of the program is to keep the area's most promising young people at home and prepare them to assume leadership positions within the community and region.

Up to four Sheboygan County Scholars are chosen each year. These recipients meet rigorous academic standards, complete an application process and interview with an LU committee.

Upon acceptance into the program, scholars will be expected to excel academically, be engaged in campus life and the Sheboygan community through volunteer opportunities and maintain the highest ethical standards.

The four newcomers to the program will join sophomores Zachery Mock (Howards Grove); Matthew Seider (Sheboygan Christian); and Emma Schad (Sheboygan Falls) and freshmen Lauren Bruggink (Oostburg); Brandon Herrin (Plymouth); Shyanne Koski (Random Lake) and Dante Williams (Sheboygan North).
