Students in Lakeland’s spring semester food, beverage and labor cost controls class recently finished second in the management competition at the Midwest Foodservice Expo in Milwaukee. The class is part of Lakeland’s hospitality management program.
Class members Jacob Dueppen, Hailey Diny, Brooke Paige and Katrien Rogers put together a concept and business plan for a fictional Italian restaurant, LaCasa, and presented it to a panel of judges.
“The students did a great job developing their concept and presenting all of the many details involved in starting a successful restaurant,” said Britanni Meinnert, Lakeland’s instructor of hospitality management.
